1. Start small. You're definitely going to see leftover white residue if you go too crazy with application, says Taylor. Focus on your oiliest areas and start with a light application. You can easily add more, [but] it's not so easy to work out once you've overdone it with dry shampoo, she says.
2. Let the dry shampoo sit for five minutes. This is the part a lot of people skip, probably due to the convenience factor of dry shampoo, says Taylor.
3. Brush it through. After the five minutes is up, brush the dry shampoo through your strands, suggests Taylor.
