The Makeup Set
When you’re dialing into a Zoom meeting with little to no time to worry about makeup, these are the basics you’ll want to reach for. A little flush in the cheeks, brushed-up brows, and an application of mascara are just what you need —and this set will probably last you till next year if you use it sparingly. — Talia Abbas, associate commerce editor
I've been a Milky Jelly Cleanser faithful for years now, so when I heard that Glossier was coming out with a new deep-cleaning facial wash, I cleared all the room on my top shelf. Let me tell you—this product does not disappoint. It goes in on your skin, but in the most gentle way, so you'll want it on deck for all of the hot, humid, and sweaty days ahead. The formula has a blend of AHA exfoliators that are still nice to sensitive skin, with calendula, chamomile, and passion fruit extracts that keep your skin hydrated from the deep clean. Despite having allover dryness and eczema, I never feel that uncomfortable tightness after using this wash—just clean, clarified, and polished. That said, I use it only one or two times per week—for anyone with oilier skin, you'll probably fall in love with this for more regular use! And of course, since it's a Glossier product, we can't ignore the packaging. Unlike most from the brand, this one comes in a sleek glass bottle so you can actually see the amber-hued formula inside. I highly recommend bringing it into the shower, because when that steam hits and the glass fogs up, it's ~chef's kiss.~ —Shanna Shipin, managing commerce editor
A little goes a long way with this gel-cream blush that will remind you of finger painting from back in the day. I use a small dot of Dawn (sunny coral) for a fresh daytime look in the summer, and go with Haze (deep berry) for more drama on Zoom. The range of hues works well with different skin tones; plus, they’re blendable, so you can create your own custom mixture. —Erin Parker, contributor
The Essential Edit
Glossier newbies and devotees alike will be impressed by this gift set featuring best-sellers like Boy Brow, Balm Dot Com, and Milky Jelly Cleanser. I plan to stock up on these gift-ready sets for every beauty lover on my list. —A.Y.
Normally I’d roll my eyes at anything being called aesthetic skin care—meaning, a product that imparts skin-care benefits but also looks incredible on—but that’s exactly what this oil-serum hybrid is, and the glow it gives your face is impossible to scoff at. Futuredew gets its skin-glistening magic from light- reflecting minerals, but it’s also got all the things you’d look for in a great hydrating serum: jojoba, grape-seed, evening primrose, and rose hip oils, along with squalane to help lock in moisture. The number of compliments I’ve gotten on my skin has increased tenfold since I’ve started using it. No lie. —Lindsay Schallon, contributor
There’s a reason this product is Glossier’s top seller (and inspiration for so many copycats): It’s awesome. I love everything about it: its tiny tube, its teeny brush that separates and grooms so well, its super-sticky, nonflaky, semiwaxy formula that holds hairs in place for days. —L.S.
The Lip Trio in Cranberry
I live for a red lip during the holidays and Glossier rounded up every festive shade in this convenient gift set. Looking for high shine? Apply the cushiony Lip Gloss. Want something matte? Pick up the Generation G lipstick. With this three-piece set, I don't have to choose. — A.Y.
Rose Balm Dotcom
As a devoted drugstore balm user for most of my life, I was reluctant to try Glossier’s Balm Dotcom when it came out a few years ago. But it was aesthetically pleasing, so as a millennial, I thought I’d try it out. And upon first swipe, I became addicted to it (the rose flavor, to be exact) and a total convert; it’s the one Glossier product that I reorder time and time again. It keep my lips moisturized for hours and hours during the day, and when I apply it before bed, I wake up with supersoft lips. Plus, its subtle floral scent is aromatherapy in and of itself. In particularly stressful times, I grab it out of my purse (it’s always in there) and put it on just for its soothing smell. In short: I’ll never quit you, Balm Dotcom. —Tess Kornfeld, contributor
Body Hero Exfoliating Bar
Let me preface this by saying I am not a bar-soap girl, and yet I am obsessed with this exfoliating bar. First of all, I hate how body scrubs leave a trail of grounds at the bottom of my tub, and a lot of them leave my already oily skin feeling like there’s a thin film over it. This is hydrating yet tough on rough patches of skin, and I love the little well on the bottom of the bar that lets you drop a bit of body wash on top so you can cleanse and exfoliate in one fell swoop. —L.S.
Everyone says the last thing they want in a concealer is cakey-ness. Having makeup visibly settle into the fine lines we all have isn’t cute and defeats the purpose, for me, of wearing makeup to begin with. What I love about Glossier’s Stretch Concealer is its texture. It’s so lightweight and dewy that it’s almost impossible for it to cake up. I started using it not just under my eyes to cover circles but also on my eyelids to give my face a more pulled-together look, as well as to cover redness under my nose and at the corners of my mouth. It looks super natural—some might say too natural if ultra-full coverage is the goal— but it works wonders for me when I don’t feel like a full face of foundation and want a light glow while still hiding my skin issues. —Perrie Samotin, digital director
I’m all in on highlighting pretty much 365 days of the year—but most especially when I’m feeling a little run-down. The combo of crystal extracts and actual moisturizing oils in Haloscope ensures that I look fresh-faced and dewy while it hydrates my skin at the same time. A dash on my cheeks, brow bones, and the bridge of my nose, and I’m good to go. —Abby Gardner, contributor
The Bath Duo
Winter is bath season and everything you need for the perfect self-care night- in can be found in this duo set. Glossier's Bath Pods dissolve in water and have conditioning oils for super-soft skin, while the mini candle is the perfect size for setting on the ledge of your bathtub. As a serious bather, I can't wait to sit back and relax. — A.Y.
Generation G Lipstick
Glossier’s reformulated Generation G lipstick is a new favorite of mine. I love how comfortable and moisturizing it is. I use the color Zip, which is sheer and buildable but still packs such a punch that I don’t need to wear anything else with it. It’s the perfect summer red lip for those who are a little bit color- shy like me. —Khaliha Hawkins, contributor
Milky Jelly Cleanser
I’ve been a fan of Glossier since day one, and most of its products have made their way into my daily routine (hi, Boy Brow!). But my love runs deepest for its Milky Jelly Conditioning Face Wash. The texture is unique—the only way I can describe it is cushiony—and it never leaves my skin feeling tight or stripped. I use it in the morning on dry skin and at night after an oil cleanser or micellar water to remove makeup. The smell is incredible: It’s like roses and lipstick, but it’s subtle enough not to irritate my sensitive skin. I will always have a bottle in my bathroom because it works, and it honestly just makes me happy when I use it, which is what beauty is all about. —B.C.
Body Hero Daily Perfecting Cream
Until Body Hero, I believed the one metric that mattered in lotion was how well it moisturized. I was a noob! Innocent and impressionable! But as soon as I found this (attractive!) stuff, I learned the truth. A good lotion will make your legs look longer, your skin feel dewier, and your bod smell like a fresh- picked flower. I’ve reordered it three times. —Mattie Kahn, culture director
Lash Slick Mascara
I don't have to worry about clumpy lashes when it comes to this top-rated mascara, because it's designed to curl and sculpt as is lengthens, creating a natural-looking extension effect without going over-the-top or making a mess. — E.P.
Body Hero Dry-Touch Oil Mist
I’ve been a fan of the Body Hero lotion since it launched, but lately I’ve been more into oils, so this couldn’t have come at a better time. Like its older sister’s, the packaging is cool and expensive-looking, and it makes me smile every time I see it in my bathroom. The oil itself is super lightweight—it’s a dry oil, so you can put jeans on right away or roll around in clean sheets without leaving a mess—but it feels really nourishing and lush. My favorite part, though, is the scent: the perfect soapy neroli that makes me smell like a rich European baby. I have no complaints. —B.C.
I have a rocky history with retinol. I’ve tried my fair share of prescription and over-the-counter formulas, and almost every time I’m left with a red, flaky mess. However, I’ve been using Glossier Universal Pro Retinol twice a week, and I haven’t had a single flake, patch of redness, or random flare-up thanks to the creamy texture and emollients in the formula. In fact, my skin has looked great. With three weeks under my belt, I haven’t been using it nearly long enough to see serious results when it comes to acne and pigmentation (those effects usually kick in after 12 to 16 weeks of use). However, it did flatten a red, inflamed pimple overnight. And although I’m currently dealing with my usual crop of zits, my skin generally looks healthier since I started incorporating the retinol into my routine; it’s overall glowing, dewy, and plump. It’s still my skin, just a lot better. —B.C.
After I cleanse my skin at night, I swipe this glycolic acid toner all over my face and neck in order to remove excess makeup residue and keep my skin smooth. Thanks to powerful hydroxy acids (AHA, BHA and PHA), it works to gently exfoliate, unclog pores, and fight breakouts. I’ve totally seen a difference since I added it to my routine. —Jillian Ruffo, contributor
With all the handwashing I’ve been doing since COVID hit, this rich—but not sticky—hand cream has been a godsend. It smells like the brand’s fragrance, You, which is clean and fresh with a slight hint of florals. I wish I were going more places these days, because this is the kind of cute packaging you never get sick of pulling out of your bag. —L.S.
This may be a hot take, but I don’t use many—if any—Glossier products in my daily routine. (I know, I know.) There is one exception, though, and that’s Wowder. The loose powder manages to give my skin a matte yet dewy appearance without feeling too cakey. It’s like putting an IRL filter over your skin. —Anna Moeslein, deputy editor
The Beauty Bag
Okay, a makeup bag may not be the most exciting grab when it comes to a sale, but trust me when I say this one will change your life. It's sturdy, obviously super Instragrammable (this is Glossier we are talking about), and holds way more than it looks. I'm a heavy packer, but I was able to easily fit both my makeup and skin-care products for a week in here, which is no small feat (I'm not exactly low-maintenance). It's the perfect prep for any summer trips you may have planned. —B.C.
Perfecting Skin Tint
I usually wear only BB or CC cream, because I find that foundation just cakes into my dry skin—but Skin Tint is a great alternative. If you’re not big on full-coverage foundation, or you just need a tinted moisturizer to polish up your skin tone here and there, this tint is for you. It’ll give you an ultra- thin veil to minimize pores without making it look as if you just stepped out of the FaceTune app. —S.S
Invisible Shield Daily Sunscreen
I've hated face sunscreen for a long time, and although I've recently found several formulas I can mesh with, this is the first ever product that made me feel like I could be A Girl Who Wears Sunscreen. The clear water-gel formula means it absorbs quickly, so I don't have to spend too much time after application looking like Casper the Friendly Ghost. It barely feels like I'm wearing anything, and I have yet to get sunburned while wearing it; plus, it has the nicest subtle fruit smell. —B.C.
When you’re looking for a no-frills daily moisturizer, this lightweight option is a solid pick. It’s travel-friendly and buildable, and it hydrates for a healthy glow whether you follow it with makeup or not. I actually need to restock, so I’ll be adding a few to my cart during the sale. —E.P.
The Super Pack
Serums are an integral part of a good skin-care routine. They’re small but mighty solutions with unique purposes depending on their active ingredients, and should be applied directly after cleansing. If you’ve yet to explore the world of serums, this trio is a great place to start—and the little pastel bottles happen to look beautiful on your bathroom counter too. —T.A.
Mega Greens Galaxy Pack
I deal with random breakouts around my T-zone year-round, so I make a point of using a clay mask once a week if possible. They can be pretty drying, but I love how creamy and nutrient-rich this one is—it feels like it infuses your skin with good stuff too, rather than just sucks the gunk out. —E.P.
Pro Tip Liquid Eyeliner
I won’t lie: When I first tested this by drawing swatches on my hand, I was unimpressed by the pigment payoff. But when I tried it on my eyes, I realized that’s where its magic comes to life. The buildable formula makes the whole experience less high-stakes. If your line goes awry, it’s fine, because it isn’t an intense dark black until you draw a few layers. This means less of a heart attack for those who haven’t mastered a cat eye and more versatility from day to night. The brush tip is superthin and glides along your lash line for a subtle vibe that feels very Glossier, and the control is top-notch! When I washed my hands, the swatches didn’t budge. —Erin Parker, contributor
It’s kind of incredible how easily these eye shadows wake up your face. With one swipe and smudge on your lid, it leaves the prettiest soft wash of color behind. Most days I wear Lily, the lilac color, with mascara, and it gives the illusion I put much more thought into getting ready for a Zoom meeting. And if I had a late night? I’ll put Moon in the inner corners of my eyes to brighten them. — L.S.
Body Hero Daily Oil Wash
I'm generally a drugstore body wash girl, but this product has ruined me forever. The oil-based formula transforms into rich bubbles as soon as it mixes with water, and has the same delicious orange blossom scent as the rest of the Body Hero line. It never makes my sensitive skin feel irritated or stripped, in fact it makes it feel baby soft and pampered, even in the dead of winter. —B.C.
