As numerous brands — many beauty brands among them — have responded to the recent and long-overdue tidal wave of support for racial justice and equity, some stepped up especially quickly and generously. Glossier was among them. The skin-care and makeup brand announced on May 30 that it would be donating $500,000 across several organizations, including Black Lives Matter and the NAACP Legal Defense & Educational Fund. Beyond the brand's contribution, however, it also announced that I would be allocating the same amount for grants to Black-owned beauty businesses.
