Celebrity Hair and Makeup Looks At The 2020 Vanity Fair Oscars Party

Curated by Claudia Shannon / Research Scientist / ishonest

The only thing that can rival the Academy Awards is the Vanity Fair Oscars Party. An invite to the best party during award season is more coveted than an eyeliner that never runs. Catering from In-N-Out, fun photo booth sessions, and dancing with the likes of Billie Eilish and Saoirse Ronan — seriously, who wouldn't want an invite?

If you thought the beauty looks at the ceremony were mood board-worthy, just wait until you see some of your favorite actors, directors, and singers loosen up and up their beauty game. Last year, we saw Lupita Nyong'o and Danai Gurira serve some serious bold red lip looks. Lady Gaga, who won her first Oscar, wore an old Hollywood glamour updo that would make the like of Audrey Hepburn proud. And who could forget Kendall Jenner's serious leg moment with that dress?

You can always expect more glitter, more shine, more color, and more everything and this year was no exception. Plus, you get to see some of your other favorite celebrities — like Kerry Washington, Gabrielle Union, and Tracie Ellis Ross — who didn't attend the ceremony here too. Keep reading for all the best celebrities looks at the most fun after-party in town. It'll be like you were right there with them — almost.

Kerry Washington

Kerry Washington's hairstylist Takisha Sturdivant-Drew got inspired by the actress's Zuhair Murad crop top and skirt set. The piece is laden with beads, sequins, and other shiny embellishments, so she decided to style the hair so that the outfit could take center stage. "I kept her hairstyle simple, modern, and of course with a little edge to it," she tells ishonest.

Sturdivant-Drew used Prose hair products on Washington to achieve the look. Her hot tip for easy styling? "Apply Prose Leave-In Conditioner onto your towel- dried hair," she says. "It will easily detangle your hair, add shine, and smooth it out. That's something we are always looking for in a product."The makeup was kept similarly low-key with a neutral, soft-glam beat by Carola Gonzalez.

Vanessa Hudgens

Vanessa Hudgens showed up to the party wearing a stunning purple Vera Wang gown, which makeup artist Allan Avendano paired with soft glowing skin and a neutral lip by Bite Beauty.

Lucy Boynton

Lucy Boyton's cotton candy-colored dress matched her glittery makeup perfectly. The actress's eyes were covered in pink metallic glitter, and her look was finished with a dramatic lash and soft pink lip.

Regina King

If there was one celebrity we had our eyes on for the entire night, it's Regina King. The star's glowy makeup and smoky eye was finessed by makeup artist Latrice Johnson, who used all Charlotte Tilbury products. Those lashes, though, are our favorite part of the look — they're only $6 and have so much volume.

Lili Reinhart

If anyone is ready for spring, it's Lili Reinhart. Her floral dress and baby- pink makeup is putting us in the mood for warmer weather. Oh, and her sleek hair with that deep side-bang part? Absolutely beautiful.

As we all know, Ciara's got a baby on board, but this glow was more than that. Ciara's skin was radiant as always, paired with an effortless top knot, courtesy of hairstylist César DeLeön Ramirêz.

Winnie Harlow

Winnie Harlow's Vivienne Westwood gown was stunning beyond words, but the model's beauty look was also one for the books. She wore a glossy berry lip with a soft and neutral smoky eye. Cascading waves completed her gorgeous effort.

Kim Kardashian West

No one loves their glam team as much as Kim Kardashian West does. The KKW Beauty founder wore a dramatic smoky eye done by makeup artist Ash K Holm. She tapped her go-to stylist Chris Appleton to give her that wet-hair look for the occasion.

Kylie Jenner

Kylie Jenner looked nothing short of a billion dollars at the after-party. The young entrepreneur wore a Ralph and Russo gown, paired with a full face of Kylie Cosmetics. You can credit Ariel Tejada for this glammed-out makeup look Jenner's working here.

Hailey Bieber

Mary Philips was also responsible for this soft glam makeup look on Hailey Bieber. As for her hair, hairstylist Jen Atkin created a sleek, slightly flipped-out bob to go with the neutral and natural makeup.

Sofia Vergara

Elegance is one word we'd use to describe Sofia Vergara's after-party look. The actress's glam team created a kind of Old Hollywood vibe with her makeup. Quinn Murphy kept things simple, giving Vergara glowy skin and a red lip, while hairstylist Serge Normant brought some classic drama with deep side-swept curls.

Gabrielle Union

Gabrielle Union resembled a true goddess at the party. Hairstylist Larry Sims embedded crystals into her braids and makeup artist Fiona Styles gave her a pale pink cat-eye. Both aspects of her look are now on our list to try ASAP.

Olivia Wilde

Actress Olivia Wilde matched her black long-sleeved gown with a winged cat-eye that has a fun shimmer ombré effect. She kept the rest of her makeup neutral, with a nude lip and slight blush to make the eyes the focal point.

Tracee Ellis Ross

Tracee Ellis Ross slayed with her gold-sequined gown and a deep V, but we're especially loving her bright orange lip. It's the perfect after-party combo.

Ava DuVernay

Director Ava DuVernay wears a killer teal smoky eye and her locs in a half updo gathered at the top of her crown. Her nude lip has a glossy finish that we're totally digging, too.

Jessica Alba

Subtle pink tones and bronze shimmer are the themes of Jessia Alba's beauty look. She wears a pink nude lip, a bronze glitter shadow, and pinkish blush to warm her cheeks.
