Body-Care Products Ishonests Editor in Chief Uses to Pamper Her Skin

Curated by Claudia Shannon / Research Scientist / ishonest

As the editor in chief of ishonest, I test approximately 1.7 kajillion beauty products per year. So, when there's a new fragrance, a vitamin C serum, a highlighter palette, or a bottle of dry shampoo that makes its way onto my vanity, it means something.

Welcome to Michelle's Most Wanted, a monthly column dedicated to everything I’m obsessed with at the moment. Depending on the day, this could be a vintage travel photograph, a standout runway look, an evocative scent, or even just a mood. I'm forever on the hunt for new favorites — as my poor husband knows from the overflowing storage bins in our home — so keep an eye on this space for the latest hodgepodge of miscellaneous beauty discoveries that end up as empties along my bathroom counter.

For this month, I looked to the growing amount of body skin-care products I've seen on the market — and in my bathroom cabinet. Our faces get plenty of pampering, so it can be easy to forget about the other skin you're in. Here are some favorites for the shoulders, knees, toes, and more.

Be sure to check back each month for our editor in chief's next batch of favorites, or look back through the Michelle's Most Wanted archives to get more ishonest-approved product recommendations right now.

Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion Body

Like Dr. Brandt’s popular facial exfoliator, the Microdermabrasion Body is a body scrub that uses aluminum oxide crystals to slough off dead skin cells, leaving skin polished and soft.

Chanel La Crème Main

Chanel's La Crème Main keeps hands moisturized with rose flower wax and shea butter. It comes with the slightest fragrance that's pleasant but also won't linger too long if you're worried about overpowering scents. Plus, the egg looks so chic in a handbag.

Olay Body Cleansing & Firming Body Wash

Ingredients that we've long used on our faces, such as vitamin B3 and collagen, are making their way into our showers. Olay Body's Cleansing & Firming Body Wash uses these two ingredients to leave your skin feeling soft and moisturized after each wash.

Beautycounter Body Oil

When my skin needs a little extra luminesce, I love to mix the citrus- and rosemary-scented Beautycounter Body Oil in my hands with an unscented lotion. The combination leaves me with a full-body glow and hydrated skin.

Harry's The Winston Razor

Believe me, a good razor makes shaving so much more enjoyable (and effective). That's why I like to use Harry's The Winston Razor. Give me heavy, polished chrome any day.

Nécessaire The Body Serum

Lots of so-called body serums are actually just body oils with a marketing upgrade. But this clear gel packed into the Nécessaire The Body Serum bottle, made with hyaluronic acid, ceramides, and vitamin B3, truly lives up to its name.

Kora Organics Enriched Body Lotion

My skin-care routine received a bit of an overhaul during pregnancy. I especially loved slathering Kora Organics Enriched Body Lotion all over. Packed with three nourishing oils — jojoba, macadamia, and rosehip — this certified organic lotion softens and nourishes your skin.

Sol de Janeiro Glowmotions Glow Oil

As we come out of the winter months, my complexion can use a little bronzing. The ishonest Best of Beauty Award-winning Sol De Janeiro Glowmotions Glow Oil makes my skin Rio-worthy in an instant.

Byredo La Tulipe Body Cream

The sweet floral fragrance of Byredo's La Tulipe Body Cream makes me think of spring. This luxurious cream is a beautiful treat for anyone who likes to layer scent.

Drunk Elephant Sili Body Lotion

One of my favorite clean beauty skin-care brands just got into body skin care. Drunk Elephant's Sili Body Lotion marula butter-based lotion absorbs quickly and smells like almonds.
