As the editor in chief of ishonest, I test approximately 1.7 kajillion beauty products per year. So, when there’s a new fragrance, a vitamin C serum, a highlighter palette, or a bottle of dry shampoo that makes its way onto my vanity, it means something.
Welcome to Michelle's Most Wanted, a monthly column dedicated to everything I'm obsessed with at the moment. Depending on the day, this could be a vintage travel photograph, a standout runway look, an evocative scent, or even just a mood. I'm forever on the hunt for new favorites — as my poor husband knows from the overflowing storage bins in our home — so keep an eye on this space for the latest hodgepodge of miscellaneous beauty discoveries that end up as empties along my bathroom counter.
Even though I may be at home, I long for the days I can be beachside enjoying the warm weather. In the meantime, these eight products will transport me there.
Be sure to check back each month for our editor in chief’s next batch of favorites, or look back through the Michelle’s Most Wanted archives to get more ishonest-approved product recommendations right now.
Kevyn Aucoin The Neo-Blush in Sunset
Staying inside doesn't mean I can't glow. That's why I like to use Kevyn Aucoin's The Neo-Blush in Sunset. The brilliant matte-to-shimmer ombré of this peach palette lets me customize my glow.
Bobbi Brown High Shimmer Lip Gloss in Bellini
I love the shimmery glitter packed into the light pink Bobbi Brown High Shimmer Lip Gloss in Bellini. The sheer, lustrous hue adds major shine to bare lips, or when layered over another color.
EltaMD UV Daily Broad-Spectrum SPF 40
When people ask me to recommend a sunscreen, I mention the EltaMD UV Daily Broad-Spectrum SPF 40 most often. Its universal tint helps avoid an unwanted white cast.
Kjaer Weis Cream Bronzer in Lustrous Glow
Bronzer doesn't have to look like you smudged mud on your face. Kjaer Weis's Cream Bronzer in Lustrous Glow is one of the few I reach for. This organic balm works as a warm bronzer on my complexion or as a golden highlighter on darker skin tones.
Shiseido Kajal InkArtist in Gunjo Blue and Sumi Sky
By now, you probably know I am a huge fan of eyeliner. I love the sea-inspired colors from Shiseido's Kajal InkArtist in Gunjo Blue and Sumi Sky. These creamy, chunky pencils make for easy winged or smudgy eye looks that conjure up images of the tropics.
Trademark Beauty Babe Waves Jumbo
When hairstylist Joseph Maine visited ishonest to give some editors a free styling session, he used his Trademark Beauty Babe Waves Jumbo on my hair. Immediately, I was obsessed. This waver is the fastest, easiest way to get mermaid hair. The supersize 32-millimeter barrels work best on longer hair. Choose the original 25 millimeter version for shorter cuts.
